Dearness Allowance


Dearness Allowance--The Government of India today announced a hike in the Dearness Allowance of 5% with effect from 1st July this year.

It is expected that the arrears for the months of July and August will be paid in due c0urse.

Dearness Allowance is being paid to the Government servants with effect from 1st January or 1st July based on the price index.

This increase will be allowed to the pensioners also.

The five per cent increase in the DA for the employees and dearness relief for pensioners would be over the existing rate of 22 per cent of the basic pay or pension, the minister said.
