Government  have established a new Society for the administration of the Backward Classes Welfare Residential Schools in the combined State of Andhra Pradesh during the academic year 2012-13 vide G.O.Ms.Nos. 6 & 7 BC Welfare (B2) Dept., Dated 02-4-2012 & 11-4-2012. 45 BC Residential Schools were transferred from the control of APREIS to the newly formed Society named as MAHATMA JYOTIBA PHULE ANDHRA PRADSH BACKWARD CLASSES WELFARE RESIDENTIAL EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS SOCIETY (MJPAPBCWREIS).
fter bifurcation of the State, the Mahatma Jyothiba Phule Telangana Backward Classes Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society has been established in July, 2014 vide G. O. Ms. No. 1, BC Welfare (B) Department, dated 14-07-2014 with an aim to provide quality education to the children belonging to Backward Classes and other communities.

At present 22 BC Residential Schools, 3 BC Residential Junior Colleges and 1 BC Residential Degree College for Women are functioning under the control of the Society. Government have sanctioned new School at Narsapur, Medak district for fishermen girls school. The schools are located all over Telangana State with classes V to X. The medium of instruction in these institutions is English. As per Right to Education Act, Continuous Comprehensive and Evaluation (CCE) method is being implemented in these schools with State syllabus.

This society has now published the Selection List of candidates for admission under the MAHATMA JYOTHIBA PHULE TELANGANA BACKWARD CLASSES WELFARE RESIDENTIAL EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS SOCIETY for various schools/Colleges in the state of Telangana.
