On Amavasya day it is the practice of offering poojas in memory of the deceased elders in Hindu tradition.  Likewise, 20th January 2015 being the Amavasya lot of Hindus in the southern part of India  have performed Poojas in Rameswaram and Kanyakumari.

It is said offering Poojas to the deceased elders will yield good things to one's family and the blessings  will lost longer for ever.

Most of the Hindus who are settled elsewhere in the world could find the days of Amavasya that are coming in this year 2015, so that they can make note of it and do the Poojas without fail.
