According to a press release issued by the Government of Tamil Nadu, the State Government Transport Department has made elaborate arrangements for the transportation of passengers to the native places to celebrate deepavali along with their family members.

On the basis of the announcement made by the Government,  buses will be operated from Koyambedu to District Headquarters and important places of Tamil Nadu.

On 9th 768 buses will be operated from Koyambedu, on 10th 633 buses, 11th 543 buses, 12th 884 buses will be operated from Koyambedu.  Likewise, through out Tamil Nadu, on 9th 925 buses, 10th 940 buses, 11th 977 buses and 12th 1189 buses will be operated.   In total from 9th to 12th November 6859 buses will be operated on a special service basis.

In the same way after the Deepavali the same number of buses will be operated on the opposite direction from 13th to 16th November 2012.

Passengers who are travelling more than 300 kilometers can use the online ticket reservation system through www.tnstc.in .  As of now, around 16 special counters have been opened for the benefit of advance reservation of bus tickets.
