Tamil Nadu Speaker Jayakumar resigns.


According to Media reports, it is reported that  Mr D. Jayakumar, Speaker of Tamil Nadu Legislative assembly has resigned his post.

The reasons are not yet disclosed.

Consequent on the resignation of D.Jayakumar, the duties of the speaker will be carried out by the Deputy Speaker Mr Danapal.



Media reports say that due to unsatisfactory conditions prevailing against the Speaker within the party, the speaker has resigned. 

It is reported that D  Jayakumar celebrated his birthday recently in a grand manner which is said to be the reason for unsatisfactory conditions against him from the party head.

Previious resignations of Tamil Nadu Speakers.


In 1967 C.P.Aditanar resigned from the speaker post to hold minister ship.

Madhialagan resigned 

 In September 1970 he resigned from the cabinet, citing moral and ethical issues after charges of corruption,involving the purchase of a bungalow, were brought upon him by the opposition. These charges were later on proved to be false.
