Malayalam Actor Thilakan passed away
With profound sorrow we record the sudden demise of Thilakan, great actor of Malayalam Cinema. Thilakan who was ailing for some time was admitted in a hospital at Thiruvanandhapuram on 23rd August and he died of heart attack this morning.
77 years old Thilakan has acted in a lot of Malayalam movies and also in some Tamil films.
Thilakan entered the Malayalam film field through the film Ulkadal in the year 1979 and he has been awarded Padmashri award in the year 1988.

Thilakan is survived by his sons Shaji Thilakan, Shammi Thilakan, Shibu Thilakan, Shobi Thilakan and daughters Sonia Thilakan and Sophia Thilakan.
