The tenure of the present President of India comes to an end by July this year and the congress is searching for the next President of India. Some of the names of present union ministers are in the suggestion. In the meanwhile, the opposite parties have suggested the name of APJ Abdul Kalam, former President of India for another term.

He was the President of India from July 2002 to July 2007 and he was succeeded by Pratibha Devisingh Patil. 81 year old Abdul Kalam is presently visiting the Indian Universities and teaches aerospace engineering subjects.
