Government of India has increased the dearness allowance of its employees from 58% to 65% with retrospective effect from 1.1.2012 and this will cost an addition exchequer of around 8000 crores.
The increase in Dearness allowance is in consonance with the government's agreed principle based on 6th Central Pay Commission.
The announcement will benefit It will benefit about 50 lakh employees and 30 lakh pensioners.
